The Color Scheme and Images that we select for a Starter Showcase are very important to the overall look and feel of your website. The place where we look first in order to determine these is your company logo.
Colors and Images can affect the website in many ways. The most important things to keep in mind in this regard are:
Who You Are
If you sold dump trucks, you would likely have clients who are large construction companies. But what if the actual people you are reaching out to within those companies are CFO’s. In that case, it may not be the right way to go to have an image of an army of dump trucks hauling dirt from a job site. It may be better to go for an image of clean dump trucks, parked neatly outside a warehouse. A little bit cleaner of a look. But if, on the other hand, the people you were trying to target were Project Forman’s, the trucks hauling dirt around may be a great idea. It would connect to them a little bit better than the trucks outside the warehouse.
Who's Your Target Audience
Colors work the same way. We will typically recommend that a website follow the same color scheme as your logo so that they have some consistency between them. But where the logo has 1 color or is just Black, we keep the same thing in mind as with the images.
Selecting Colors that Represent You!
What you want, is for the website to grab THE CUSTOMER. So understanding the colors and images that would more likely grab their attention is vital.
